Pakistan and Australia have reached an agreement to enhance military-to-military cooperation.

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza is currently on an official visit to Australia, starting from July 24, to engage in Defence and Security Talks and a 1.5 Track Security Dialogue, according to a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

During his visit, the CJCSC held meetings with high-ranking civilian and military leadership, including General Angus J. Campbell, Chief of Defence Forces Australia. The discussions led to an agreement to further expand military-to-military cooperation between the two nations.

Additionally, General Mirza visited the Royal Military College and addressed participants from the Australian Defence College.

In February of the previous year, General Campbell had met with then-army chief General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa, where they discussed military-to-military cooperation, regional security, and bilateral collaboration across various domains.

Both sides expressed their commitment to enhance bilateral relations and defense cooperation, with a shared focus on promoting peace and security in the region. General Campbell assured his dedication to strengthening diplomatic cooperation at all levels and pledged to foster greater military cooperation between the two armed forces.
