Anju from India converts to Islam and ties the knot with her Pakistani friend in Upper Dir

An Indian woman, now known as Fatima, has recently made headlines as she married Nasrullah, a 29-year-old Pakistani man from Upper Dir.

The 35-year-old love-struck woman, previously known as Anju, met Nasrullah on Facebook, and their relationship eventually led to a wedding after she converted to Islam. The nikah was confirmed by Malakand Division Deputy Inspector General Nasir Mehmood Satti, who stated that the couple willingly signed the marriage contract, which was recorded under Section 164.

Amid security precautions, Fatima was moved from the court to her new home under police protection. During the proceedings, Fatima expressed her happiness with her decision to come to Pakistan and stated that she willingly made the journey. She arrived in Pakistan legally through the Wagah border on July 22 with a valid visa allowing her to stay until August 21. If she wishes to extend her visit beyond that date, she will need to seek approval from the Home Ministry.

It is worth mentioning that Fatima is a divorcee and has children in India. In a previous video statement, she clarified that she had no intention of staying in Pakistan permanently and intended to return to her home country in a few days, just as she arrived. Fatima also made a request to the Indian media to refrain from bothering her family in India and asked them to approach her directly if they have any inquiries regarding her visit to Upper Dir.

The cross-border love story of Anju-turned-Fatima and Nasrullah has captured attention, and as they begin their new life together, their heartfelt wishes for privacy and understanding have been expressed.
